Other Topic Session Description Java middleware like JBoss, Spring and WebSphere are web application standards in enterprises. However, they are focused on scalability and efficiency of database applications, largely ignoring the rich user environments driven by the consumer web. The .Net and PHP communities have SharePoint and Drupal to enrich their apps, while Java has become 'legacy.' Yet, billions have been invested in enterprise Java. This session will show how these enterprises can reach Web 2.0 nirvana by building on their existing Java infrastructure using a services-based architecture designed for the modern web. It combines a powerful set of REST-based common services for Social, Collaboration, Content Management, Single Sign On, Preference control, etc. with a set of reusable user services to create rich applications as well as pre-built applications from content Explorer, email, calendar, activity streams, directories, Gadgets and mashups.
