Session Description

Taking a somewhat unique approach, MITRE decided to deploy a "business networking" research platform on our DMZ to allow us to network and collaborate both within our enterprise and across sponsor and partner organizations. We are making enterprise customizations to an open source social networking platform (Elgg) to address security, information sharing policy, external user management strategies, organizational scaling, relationship management, and business functional requirements. We are also assessing the business value and new business models it affords.

Hi - This is interesting. I've read up on MITRE's experiments with collaborative bookmarking via Scuttle/onomi and was impressed by the thoroughness of writing (it's one of the few public case studies on this topic). Has any of this presentation between written up before that I can have a look at?

Donna,

Nice to see you make the cut re the call for papers. As well as Hedgehogs.net (also Elgg), we (Thematic Capital) are also the angel investors behind Curverider as leads for the Elgg.org OS project.

I met Justin Richer at ElggCamp Boston at Harvard last year, and the team's contributions to Elgg.org re full text search that respects Access Controls, etc., are very much appreciated by the guys at Curverider and the whole Elgg community.

I hope to be there, and would be very keen to catch up.

Cheers

Ken
